Dr. Michael Zemel is a professor of nutrition and medicine and the Director of The Nutrition Institute at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He also serves as Director of America On the Move in Tennessee. Dr. Zemel received his graduate training in Nutritional Sciences & Physiology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He served as assistant and then associate professor in the Department of Nutrition and the Endocrinology Division of the Department of Medicine at Wayne State University from 1980 until assuming his present position in 1990. He was also Research Endocrinologist at the VA Medical Center, affiliated with the Wayne State University School of Medicine from 1987-1990.
