Lee Scheible, Sourcing Consultant, has been at Eli Lilly for 24 years of which 9 years were spent in the Lilly Research Laboratories focusing on various microbiological and then analytical chemistry projects. He then moved his focus to a clinical research role within Medical, Oncology. After focusing strictly on clinical research for 3 years, he began working on numerous process improvement projects and procedure development while continuing his clinical role. One such process improvement project has been the incorporation of eClinical methodologies into standard clinical research processes at Eli Lilly. The project has included the development and implementation of virtual training processes, collaborative tools including document repositories and other eClinical tools and databases. In addition he has also spent the last 7 years developing and incorporating the use of clinical investigative networks into the standard clinical trial processes at Eli Lilly as compared to the standard single site model. He has developed various processes, tools and value models used in analyzing clinical networks for optimal trial placement and overall trial efficiencies. He recently moved into the Lilly LRL Development Center of Excellence (DCOE) to focus on the development of an optimal clinical research model for oncology trials including the development of an oncology sourcing strategy, new dataflow processes, data standards, performance metrics and value model. He has also started consulting with other therapeutic areas within Lilly in utilizing and optimizing the clinical network model as well as developing a sourcing strategy.
